Summer Show Success

PCB's production of It's a Small World" was presented at the San Gabriel Civic Auditorium to sold out audiences June 22 and 23.  The performance featured dances from around the world.  Highlights included a colorful Ballywood scene, a vibrant Greek number, adorable French poodles, Penguins from the Antarctica and a spectacular neon light fireworks finale!

DVDs for both performances will be available for purchase for $35.  Please sign up at the front desk if you are interested in purchasing one.

PCB Dances Perform in St. Thomas

Members of Pasadena Civic Ballet Company traveled to St. Thomas this June.  The company was invited by the St. Thomas Ritz Carlton to perform as part of their Caribbean Extravaganza.  The dancers too ballet classes daily and rehearsed a new piece choreographed by Pamela Langevin.  Miss Pamela is a former PCB instructor and guest artist.  The dancers performed Bring Me Joy, Miss Pamela's piece Bach Preludes, and The Clown to a delighted audience at the Ritz Carlton.  We are very proud of our PCB dancers!  Dancers took a little time out to night snorkel, kayak and bask in the beautiful Caribbean sun.

Summer School

PCB dancers enjoyed a diverse and exciting curriculum this summer including ballet, tap, musical theatre, jazz, African, tumbling, Hip-Hop, ballet storybook, dance history, make-up and variations.  Students and teachers alike enjoyed summer dance camp and look forward to returning in the fall.

Miss Zoë has her Baby

Baby Kyri was born May 23, 2007 and weighed in at 7lbs. 5oz.  Zoë is enjoying her little guy and big brother Niko couldn't be more thrilled.  She looks forward to introducing little Kyri to the PCB family.

Famous Choreographer Sets Piece on Sr. Company

PCB Senior Company members had the honor of having Adonis Daukaev choreograph a special contemporary piece for them this summer.  Mr. Daukaev is the Associate Artistic Director, Soloist and Choreographer of the world-renowned German contemporary dance company Pfalztheater.  We are looking forward to premiering this piece this upcoming year.

New Jazz / Tap Combo Class!!!!!

This fall Miss Zoë will be teaching a beginning tap/jazz combination class on Tue. 5:30-6:30PM.  It will feature dances from popular chidren's songs and musicals.  This is the first time PCB is offering a combo class and it is expected to fill up soon.  Be sure to send in your pre-registration form early to guarantee a spot!

Ballerina Birthday Parties

Our new studio is the perfect spot for your daughter's next birthday party.  Available on Sundays, please schedule with Inga at the front desk.

PCB Student Essay

Every year members of PCB Company are asked to write an essay as part of their dance history course offered in the summer.  Students are asked to express in words how dance and their experiences at PCB have enhanced their lives.  We selected the following essay written by Cymphonique Miller.  She is a member of Pre-Company and is 9 1/2 years old.  She also takes Theater Ensemble.  She has been at PCB since she was 3 1/2 years old.  Download Cymphonique's Winning Essay
